>I don't what all these VB guys are complaining about. Afterall, we had to bite the bullet when VFP 3.0 was released. Some guys never could make the transition. Pulling VB out of .NET will never happen, but I wonder what all the fuss is about? Making VB fully object-oriented should excite these guys!
James;
Patience – patience! Let us wait and see what happens – should be fun too! I think the reason the VB guys are complaining is they finally figured out how to do something with that otherwise popular development tool. They have more people to complain too. We never had the sheer numbers of developers that the VB camp has had so even our complaints are of a limited number. Do we notice fear in the VB camp? Well, brother Bill will just have to make two products to keep his children happy – that is all that can be done.
From a previous post I made:
Just had a terrible thought about .NET, and after one sip of decaf coffee to boot! Picture “The Boy’s from Microsoft”, wearing white suits and chasing a developer with butterfly nets, who is in a straight jacket and running for his life. Fill in your own caption. How about this: Microsoft: “We are here to help you”! (THX1138). Developer: “No”! You have driven me over the edge! I am going back to Visual FoxPro”!
