The incompatability is probably a bad side effect of being able to run win32, UNIX, and OS2 software, something I would'nt be all that hesitant about living with in a first-release.

However, NT 4.0 is supposed to be the mother of all operating systems, and a lot of these deficiencies are quite unacceptable in a second-generation industrial strength OS when '95, which is more of a personal OS, includes support for all of these things.

I guess that for those of us who have experience in dealing with unix all of this might not seem so bad! ;-)
