I don't know of any scalability issues with ASP but it seems to work quite wonderfully from what I've seen (and developed).

I think in terms of scalability you should be ok if you do all your data access through COM components.

I may be mistaken on this but that's the approach I've seen people take.

I personally developed an app that uses both ASP w/ ADO and ASP + COM w/ ADO for data access to a SQL Server database and haven't had any issues or performance problems.

I can't recommend the Citrix approach because I don't have a lot of familiarity with the inner workings although I've been on the periphery of Citrix hell.
