Would it help to PADR your elements to the length of the longest element?

of the array elements. It always adjusts to the length of the array element that is currently selected. If this
array element is short name, then the longer names in the list are only partially visible.

I would like the width of the pull-down list to be constant, the actual width of the field that I have defined. I'm sure
that this is a simple thing, but I just can't seem to nail it down.
