You need to turn off the Write Cache for your hard drive.

Open "My Computer".
Right click on your hard drive and select "Properties".
Choose the "Hardware" tab.
Select your harddrive.
Choose the properties button.
Choose the "Disk properties" tab.
Unselect the "Write Cache Enabled" check box.

Not that you'll need to do this each time you re-start your computer as the setting is not saved!
