however, i have tried out your suggestion by doing the following -

in the menu designer, under PROMPTS, i have WINDOW as a prompt and under RESULT I have selected PADNAME from the list of options viz. COMMAND, PADNAME etc and in the text box that appears alongside, I have keyed in _MSM_WINDO

But, have not got the desired result.

Am I missing out on something ? Thanks in advance.
