>What can you say about web service in vfP 7 more than just we will like it.

Hey, Bob, ever heard of this thing called an NDA? I like my job, thank you. :-) Besides, we've got to leave something to show at DevCon. :-) Let me just say that I've found Web Services to be somewhat of a pain in the butt to setup, and there's a bit of a learning curve to do it. Not anymore.

If Randy's paying attention to this thread, I'll let him decide how much information he wants to release. If not, I'll ping him tomorrow and see what he has to say.

>is is a set of classes's with its own server, or a cgi or an add on to IIS. ?

It's a completely VFP-based solution. All using Web Services consists of is sticking your COM server and a couple of ASP pages on the IIS (I'm over-simplifying a bit).

>will we be able to send vfp data -converted to xml data out through this service. ???

You can send any kind of data that you wish via SOAP once it's converted to XML.

>what about soap ?

See Erik's comments. It essentially the same thing, if you do Web Services, you do SOAP by default.
