>I've noticed that when playing a CD while connected to Internet, WMP retrieves the songs names, album title and artist of the CD. I also noticed that while not connected, such information is displayed. I'd like to know where is the data stored at and if it is accessible from access or any other ODBC handler. I've been working on a personal VFP CD database and it could be simpler to append the data than typing it.

I have been interested in the same thing. I haven't got around to pursuing it further, but I do know of a couple of relevant resources. One is the CDDB website www.cddb.com which can be called from PCs using some sort of API, often wrapped in an active-x control. Another is any number of websites that have shareware or freeware CD player active-x controls such as Dynamedia at http://www.station-media.com/dynamedia/activex/dynacd/dynacd.htm which may have some broken links in it but I managed to download a control. I haven't tried it yet. I had a link to another freeware tool which also claimed to interface http://songfile.com/index_2.html which is the song lyrics site. But the site for this tool is off line. It used to be at http://www.mcs.com/~bdring/cddb/cddb.html but now you just get a 404.
