Unless you could find some marketing material that specifically stated you would get the upgrade for free then I doubt that you can. MS usually has an upgrade price on most of their products. Of course you wouldn't need VFP6 to get the upgrade price, any old version and maybe even some competitors versions will allow you to get the upgrade price in most cases.
