As others have pointed out, your LAN IP address is for a LAN isolated from the Internet. If you have Internet access, it is through either a proxy server or a router that is acting as a "traffic cop" for all stations on your LAN.
Also, as others have pointed out, in general you can't find the public IP address of your proxy server or router, directly from your LAN station. However, you can do it with the help of an external Web site. For example, there is Steve Gibson's security test site
http://grc.com . If you navigate to that site and take the "Shields Up" test, it will report your network's public IP address.
