Hi!

VFP uses old-style API functions to work with files than accept only 4-byte values (2 Gig file limit). You can use extended API functions for working with files that accept 8-byte values, these should work correctly. Let me know if you have any problem with that.

>I have an ascii text stream that is 3.5 Gig. I can open it fine with fopen() but feof() always returns .T. no matter where the file pointer is positioned. I can work around it but I was just curious as to why. Is the 2 Gig limit for all functions and file types?

The professional level of programmer could be determined by level of stupidity of his/her bugs

It is not appropriate to say that question is "foolish". There could be only foolish answers. Everybody passed period of time when knows nothing about something.
