Actually, the delay has some positive benefits. It increases the probability that a person will get more than one answer from people who peruse the unanswered list. This thread is a perfect example...a lot of us, including me, came up with similar answers...even accounting for the fact that one must check for the existence of a property before messing with it....but if the delay did not exist, perhaps we would not have Jim Booth's solution, which I like better (and reminded me about a function I'd forgotten about!).

Haven't you ever been frustrated when the first answer to your message didn't really help you and now you know you're no longer on the unanswered list where others attention might be called to your dilemma?

I say, "Keep the Delay"
