Well...you can still get the page number.

I rummaged around a little more in the VB editor and found the Section.PageSetup.TextColumns collection. Unfortunately, it doesn't have a property that gives you the 'current' column. Maybe you already knew this and that's why you posted your question. If so, I'm sorry for being responsible for the removal of your question from the Unanswered list, where it might be noticed more readily by a guru.
