>That sounds just like a radio ad I heard today from Horizon Learning Centers about their Certification training:

>"You can earn your Microsoft MCSE Certification even if you have no computer experience at all..."

>Excuse me, but I think most employers with any sense at all are going to check for experience, too.

David;

Experience not needed? Now, that is what got the .COM frenzy into trouble in the first place - no business experience and untruths. We have had two major computer training centers in the San Francisco Bay Area go out of business within the last two months. They took $20,000 from each student and now the students are up the creek without a paddle. Many students took out loans and typically work to support themselves and his/her families. The promise of a better life through a job in the computer world is an compelling force for the individual to try to better themselves. Enter the “Greed Mongers”, whose job it is to detach you from your money and enrich “the investors”. Rather sickening picture and .COM is still a driving force for people to enter the computer world.

I try to reason with people I meet in his/her early 20’s – was .COM in existence five years ago? What do you think will happen five years from now?

Would I advise anyone to be a developer? As they say in the South, "Hail no"! If you have to work in this industry I suggest a person attend a junior college or go to a college to get a degree in computer science - but first talk to me so I can try to talk you into getting a real job.

Tom
