Like Brad says, you don't need to remove it, but why have so many unneeded things lying around. If you're doing this at runtime, you can use column.RemoveObject(), from the Form Designer, you shoudl navigate to teh control using the upper combo box in the properties window. Choose your textbox from that list, now, click on the titlebar of the form designer, so you don't choose any new objects, and hit delete.
The column control goes away.
