Perhaps this is the soæution:

----cut
The C0000005 error only occurs if SCREEN=OFF and you subsequently make either the VFP main screen visible (_screen.visible = .t.)
or activate a top-level form. You can detect that DCOM is missing

---- end paste

>>Hi All,

>>I'm having a rather serious problem I need help with. I'm receiving a "Fatal Exception Error; Exception Code C0000005" every time I issue a "BUILD PROJECT" under VFP6. Anyone know why?

>>2) Tried building two different projects; same result.
>>3) One project is tiny, the other is large; no apparent impact
>>4) I had VFP5 installed first; uninstalled it, installed VFP6. No Un- or Install errors.
>>5) Both systems are running Win2000Pro; nothing particularly weird about what's running; tons of memory
>>6) Never had this problem before.
>>7) Have removed and re-installed VFP6.
>>8) I *am* building from a sub-directory to the general VFP dir; all VFP system programs (AFAIK) have been copied to the sub-dir. The application runs fine in un-compiled (er, un-BUILT) form.
>>
>>Any help would be appreciated. Oh, and I can't tell if the "exception" error is from Win2000 or from VFP.
