Everyone SAYS that MSDE is the same as SQL Server (with some restrictions like database size and max. concurrency).

Possibly it is, with my non-MS intuition again at play.
I bought/installed Office 2000 Developer 1.5 for the sole purpose of getting MSDE under MS Access for a short contract I had.

I used Access/MSDE (under it) to create a database with 60+ tables and it all seemed to go reasonably well. Then I decided that I wanted to 'relocate' the tables to another (real) SQL Server. But since it is not connected I thought I'd find some import/export facility to do so.
I can see an "Export" option on the files menu but it remains greyed whether the database is 'active' or none is.

So, I thought, someone has mentioned the "console" before so I'll go use that. Looking around I found Start-->Microsoft SQL Server 7.0-->MSDTC Administrative Console, clicked on it but got 'shortcut not found' (roughly). It was looking for "dac.exe" in WINNT/System32 but it asn't there nor anywhere else.

So does this mean that I have an installation problem or does it mean that MSDE ain't as "same" as people say it is?

I was also expecting to be able to make an input stream to define that database and tables as a more permanent/reuseable thing than the manual entry that I did, but see no way to get such to be used if I make them.

As I said, *MY* intuition never matches MS'. It's like they expect me to know about things before I go looking for things and it just doesn't work (for me).

Any opinions/help/whatever to get me on some useful track?
