>I am looking to find a way to put an animated Gif on my splash screen. I have tried the common picture box and image controls as well as a handful of custom controls for Kodak, PaintShopPro, etc. The image does appear, but never animates. What can I do? Do I have to scrap the animation?

You could use the ie control. that is basically create a tiny ie window just the perfect size for your gif. There are others on the net but this is straight forward.
~Joe Johnston USA

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animated contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsel or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen."
~Samuel Adams
