WordBasic was the Automation model for Word 95. They're 3 versions past that now.

According to that KB article, you do this because of a bug in VFP versions prior to VS97 SP2. So, I guess if you're using Word 97 (the version mentioned in the article) and VFP 3 or VFP 5 prior to SP2, you might do it this way. If you're using VFP 6 (or a late version of VFP 5) and/or Word 2000, I'd avoid this work-around.
