>I see you asnwered your own question, but a trick you can do is go to the lowest folder, right click on it. Click on Find. Find *.* including subfolders. WHen you get all the folders and files back, sort so all the folders are at the top or bottom. Now you can click on the first file and shift+click on the last file. You have now selected all files in all folders to work with.

Thanks, that may be handy. I thought maybe switching to NTFS and taking Ownership might solve the RO problem too, but maybe not, so I'll keep it in mind.
