A. I agree that the move to OO is significant. However, it (perception of those moving) really depends on where they're coming from. Maybe former PowerBuilder users would appreciate something along the lines of their datawindow more. C++ folks might opt for multiple inheritance. And VBers...I won't go there.:-)

B. I doubt if adding more OO is really going to be significant in the eye of managers.

C. I don't know that new designers would help much. After all, each has a different purpose and, therefore, a different set of tools to use. I really doubt that a more consistent approach is possible. Then again, I've never thought about it that much.
