Speaker: Rick Hodder

Topic: A VFP Template Language Using Design Patterns

It is with great pleasure that we welcome back Rick Hodder. Rick has
previously talked to our group about design patterns. This month he
will be demonstrating a template language he has developed in VFP using
some of these design patterns.

The design patterns used include composite, strategy, and others, which
Rick will address during the demo. The template language has been used to
generate everything from VFP code for Com Codebook, Javascript code,
and Html files to help files.

Source code for the language will be made available.

Rick is a senior developer and class architect for GoAmerica,
Hackensack, NJ. He works with businesses to jointly map their
strategies and build the supporting technology and processes to
achieve their growth and profit objectives. He is well-versed
in object oriented analysis and development and design patterns,
and has been giving presentations on design patterns in New York,
New Jersey and Connecticut. Rick was also selected as a speaker for
DevDays and presented at the 1999 and 2000 Microsoft VFP devcons.

At GoAmerica, he has served as a project mentor, technical
lead, and has worked on projects including developing
object-oriented business frameworks, COM, and Web-based
applications, using Microsoft development tools. Prior to
GoAmerica (formerly Flash, Rick developed for Citibank, Brooks Brothers,
and TIAA-CREF. Rick has a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and
Computers from Notre Dame University and is a Microsoft
Certified Professional. rHodder@corp.GoAmerica.net.

A word about our meeting place.
-------------------------------

Fortunately, we were able to make it back to our old meeting place now
known as The Tin Alley Grill. The place has really been spruced up and
is barely recognizable. The room we are meeting in is really nice. Since
we are not being charged for the room, let's make sure we pay our way.
I would appreciate it very much if everyone made every effort to have
their meals at the meeting.

Please respond with your suggestions and comments. I can be reached at
ERICHMOND@esrassociates.com

Hope to see you there.
