Yep, I understand, we write cash register software and are always considering this. But today we have 1 Ghz machines (or 1.5 and 1.7 too) with 256mb RAM and DVD drives, in 3 years when we're using VFP9, don't you think our high end PCs will be closer to the norm, if not the low? Have you noticed the prices have been dropping like mad too? But this is a whole other subject, and I think this thread has drifted enough already :-)
And back to what I said before, what if oSys.Safety = .F. compiled the same way as SET SAFETY OFF? We woudln't be adding any overhead to the deployed application. I don't know if that's possible, but I just thought I'd throw it out.
