Randy,
I just tested my grid checkbox which is a checkbox on a container control. The refresh() of the checkbox fires appropriately. If the refresh() of your button does not fire, how about code in the Refresh() of another control on the container. Could you put code in that object that modifies the button control?

>Read carefully! This one gets a bit sticky...
>Container is in a grid (per Jenny Brown's article "Build Multiple Row-per-Record Grids" - June, 2000 FPA)
>A button in that container calls a form with a memo field ('Notes')
>When the memo field is not empty, I want the caption on the buton to be red (to alert end-user of a memo)
>My problem: I can't populate the existing 'Notes' buttons( with data) with a red caption. The refresh on the button never fires (checked that with a 'wait window').
