I was giving this thread some thought, and just found and interesting use for George Tasker's wonderful Obj2BMP utility. I put an image control on the form, and placed a transparent shape with no border over part of the picture. Then I ran Obj2BMP and captured the shape control into BMP file. Naturally, there was exactly that part of picture in the BMP. So, with proper positioning and resizing code for the shape and Obj2BMP utility you can capture parts of the picture to BMP.
I think such a transparent shape and code from George's utility could be combined into a new utility which does the job.
