Bob, thanks for the reply.

>But you could configure it, and send it to an ISP just for the bandwidth, and IP Then they will just make sure there is power, and backup and you access it from pcanywhere, and run the server yourself.<

I have tried 10 so-called hosting companies in the UK so far, and so far I haven't found one that does co-location, although most are trying to sell me a dedicated server solution using their own equipment. Maybe it's more popular in the US than here, but I don't fancy configuring my own box and then shipping it across the Atlantic!

>Personally, I host my own sites, I have three fox sites at my office, doing differnt things, and one at my home. Hosting its really not a big deal, take an old 300 mz machine and turn on the services. and walk away.<

That's what I would love to be able to do, but it's difficult due to UK comms being light-years behind.

How are you accessing your Fox data at your sites? WC, FoxWeb, ASP, etc,?

>And the last thought is the net is world wide, host your site here in US if you cant find a good hosting solution in the UK, you monitor it from the UK, the latentcy issues are not that bad as far as I can tell...<

I guess you're right. It's hard to get away from the idea that if you have a problem, you just pickup the phone and 'local' support is at the other end, hopefully on a free-phone number. Unfortunately toll-free numbers in the US are not toll-free from the UK.

Regards,
Alan
