Absolutely. That is what I meant by the archaeology bit. The paging was an attempt to to create a 16 bit chip without ditching 8 bit functionality at the same time. Seems amazing in retrospect, but it is even more amazing how long the 64k mode programs have lasted. I am sure there is a lesson for us in it :-)
