>>Yes, as a matter of fact, I have. I once worked for a timber company. We had a person on staff who was on the EDI committee for the timber/lumber industry. She had shelves full of books to define each record. Big, Bulky, Bloated.

It was a timber company. They gre trees, cut them down, dried them, and turned them into lumber, fiberboard, plywood, etc. The finished products were then sold to boat and RV manufacturers, lumber yards, and do-it-yourself home centers. The specification covered everything needed to order and ship the product.

BizTalk can transform one record type to another. You can have it do the work for you or call DTS or custom COM objects. It has a really nice drag and drop GUI to do this, which makes it pretty simple. You can't do that with TEXTMERGE.
