When you read MS's documents concerning NT 4.0, it sounds as if they are touting its networking and administration features over its value as a serious wrokhorse OS. Its memory protection and emulation features make it much more valuable than MS is saying.

Could it be that they are after the Workgroup market rather than trying to unseat UNIX for development/scientific purposes?
