Yes it would. By cancelling the windows logon you were really canceling the storing of any profile information that a user would use. Such as if he/she visited a website and it asked to remember a password.
The best way, albeit a little less secure is to delete the windows PWL files and log back in. When it prompts for A NEW windows password, leave it as blank and you will never have to enter that again, even if you change the network password.
