Your pc = local figuratively 1000Mbs
Lan 10Mb = greatly slower

You should always program in the same environment that the program will end up in.

i.e. you program will be accessed from people 2 miles away on a Novell 10Mb network, then you should design your program under those same conditions. It will allow for a real response
