Are all your textboxes directly on the form, are are some in a container?

When you click on one of the textboxes with a 'value' in it does it switch to empty (new record) status? If so, then your refresh for that textbox is at fault.

Also, have you checked with the debugger to be sure you are on the new record?

And Mark's suggestion about being sure you're adding the new record to the correct table is a good one. Sometimes the SELECTed table changes programmatically and you don't notice.
