Thanks Nick. It confirms, for me at least, that my understanding of c/s being a an application architecture that describes a separation of functions amongst multiple devices allowing primarily for a reduced/minimal data flow between them is generally on the right track.
I always think of the tier thing being a secondary attribute of the architecture - it can be 2,3 or n tier but it is still c/s.
