Greetings, Craig,

Thank you for your reply - and the timeliness of it too.
I appologize for not responding in like fashion.

The table, in the end, did not respond to either deleting the foxuser.dbf nor rebuilding the indices.

The file now has 2.5 million records and many (TOO many ((WAY too many)) ) indices - it took almost 8 hours on the server, to reindex. With 200+ users on it who could use the existing data but could not add new records, management decided to wait to do it all overnight.

In the end, they (it didn't turn out to be -my- problem) did copy the file out to a new file, then overwrite the original, then re-attach the original index, re-establish the backlink in the DBC, and all was well again.

Thanks again for your assistance.
