In the solutions App in Samples, there is a class that will handle encrypted passwords for your users. (i.e. users.dbf)
In the apps I write where a login is required, I use that class, (only slightly modified for my own use). It is capable of 128 bit encryption.
I remember using this capability (among many others) as one of the selling points in using VFP instead of Access. <g>
