Just curious, since I've never seen it in all my vfp dev time since then. And not that the OS should matter here.

Of course everyone's lost edits in all kinds of apps, so we all know it can occur, and usually there's some underlying, individual problem, that prevents memory-caches from being written to disk. Good luck, anyway.
