Start Windows Explorer. Go View->Folder Options... Click on File Types tab.
Peruse the list of file associations. Look for either Adobe Acrobat Document files or PDF files. Highlight and choose Remove button. Yes, OK. Go back to PDF file, click on, choose program to open with.
