>>These are "wireless" PDA's hooked up to servers. So, in effect, they are substituting for touch screens and wireless microphones. More convenient (and sexy), but nothing particularly radical. Also, more expensive (and complex) than a dedicated workstation with the same capabilities.<<
We see reported >900% return on cost. This in a hospital that has had PCs for a decade. The "difference" between the pda and the PC is reported not by me but by those busy users.

"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
