I do not know details, but in many cases SendMessage(WM_DESTROY) did not work for me, but kill.exe worked.

Do you know if there any difference between the actions of SendMessage(WM_DESTROY) and KILL.EXE? Or KILL.EXE just does SendMessage(WM_DESTROY) and nukes the DOS session?
