Hehe... Not really philosophical. It's just that when I click on a link, I expect a new page to come up. When the new page is the same as the old page, I think something's wrong. It's just not the usual thing to do when there isn't a link. Usually when there isn't a link, it's not linked.
Hmmm... If I start talking about conditioned responses to seeing a hyperlink, is that getting philosophical or psycological? :)
