I agree with both you and Barbara - I was just wanting to make sure that my understanding was up-to-date.
I am often asked why are we not developing browser based apps and my answer is the same today as it was 2 years ago: "When I see the benefit to our organization I will start".
Our decision not to rush headlong into browser based apps is based on our unique(?) situation:
1) All users are connected to a single LAN (some via remote fiber connections)
2) Senior management does not want to encourage home access to corporate systems - we prefer our staff to use their time at home for non-business purposes. We have very few staff who travel and need access to our MIS.
3) We can install our VFP apps remotely - there is no client set up beyond initial "at purchase" setup.
4) We have a fairly homogenous hardware/software mix of client pcs.

I do see some advantage for web server based apps over traditonal desktop apps in some cases. For example we are slowly developing a Document system that will allow our users to view documents from their desktop - this has issues of access rights, structure and interface that are probably more appropriately met by a web server/browser solution than any other.

Thanks again for your input
