Thank you for your respose Garrett!

Our forms do NOT have anything running while hidden. I have
further tested this issue and your suggestion by opening the
main form and only ONE form beyond this main form.
By remaining in the second form, I simply have to rebuild the
data that populates a grid 30 times for the \windows\win386.swp
file to enlarge and finally our exe comes to a crawl.
When we change the form from modeless to modal, the problem
goes away.

Our basic form structure consists of a parent form that can be
clicked on from one of four other forms. Only one child form
is visible at any one time. The parent form is like a router
that hides the current child form and activates one of the
other 3 children forms.

Do hope I am painting an adequate picture.
