Not a direct answer to your question but a BIOS number cannot protect your application (might be if you use out to ports 70H, 71h in assembly but would be to cumbersome to test). Other BIOS info stored in specific portion of memory address (can't remember exactly but around 0:nnFF). A simple .bin could get it for you but it has nothing specific to a particular computer (more of a series nanufacturing info).
A simple protection is using registry (thinking you can never stop a hacker but average user).
