the weirdness stems from the use of underscores. In my experience, FrontPage is not the tool to do forms that DO NOT make use of all the FrontPage Extension utilities. And the intermittent nature of hassles caused by trying to just use FrontPage as a simple html editor for generating forms used for other tools like WWC will drive you insane... I know, I've been there.

>( or suggest a better environment to develop the very simple HTML I use in front of my WebConnect stuff ! )

a great cheap little tool is CuteHTML. Once you get past the silly name, it's actually a nice add-on for WWC because you get an explorer type treeview for navigating around your dev environment and you can easily manage a central javascript library via snippets for multiple projects. You can find a 30 day eval version at download.com. Plus this product has a sister tool called CuteFTP that rocks as far FTP clients go.

An even better tool that's not so cheap is CoffeeCup HTML editor.
