I'd say it's just a question of what do you want the VFP app to do vs. what do you want QuickBooks to do. Unless there's some need for the VFP app to know about the payments, then why not just have the users handle them through QuickBooks directly.

BTW, if you ever need to move data the other way -- from QuickBooks to something else -- take a look at a product called OfficeQ from DataBlox (http://datablox.com/qb/qboview.htm).

When imported there goin to Undeposited Funds and the user still has to go into Quickbooks and create a relationship between the Bill or Invoice and the associated payments. Whadayathink? Does that seem like a bother for the user.
