We're considering using an auto-update function for a VFP application. I'm expecting this would be a small stub file that checks for an update from a web or ftp site by checking file dates. It could then warn that there is an update available so the user can confirm, the download would be completed, and the new exe would be run.
If the file is up to date, the stub would then simply launch the application.
Are there solutions out there that will already do that, or do we have to roll our own? We are already using wwipstuff on the client, and running wwwc on the web server which could service the requests, if necessary (but I expect it would just be an ftp transfer).
TIA
Michael
