Finally, I got my first notebook!

Dell Inspiron 8000
850 Mhz
256 RAM
20Gb HD
15" ultra screen
Docking station

It looks VERY nice. I'm trying with a resolution of 1600x1200. Kinda tiny but readable. And the screen real estate is wonderful.

Of course being new to notebooks I have to get used to the keyboard. The mouse is the hardest part so far. It comes with both a stick in the center of the keyboard and a touchpad. Have to get used to it/them.

Now for the question. I have Win2K Server in the desktop at home. The notebook came with Win2k Pro. Before I install any software (it still mostly empty as I just got it), should I install Win 2K server in it too, so I can install SQL Server 2000? It is my understanding that SQL 2000 does not install in Win2k Pro. That being the case I would be able to use the one in the LAN server only. But that would preclude working independetly with the notebook. Being this just for testing and learning, woulddn't it make sense to change the OS?

Any recomendations?
