I recently heard about a person that moved from the SoCal area to Connecticut. What was $500,000 in SoCal was $800,000 in Connecticut.
>Hey JK,

>Just out of curiousity, whats the range of prices you've seen there for the type of property you'd be interested in.

>I've long maintained that I still rent cause I can't afford anything in the area's I would want to live in. A couple coworkers have been looking to buy over here on the west side of LA. Down south a little in a couple of the nicer beach towns prices start at $800,000. Santa Monica, W. LA way, I think it gets closer to the $500,000 mark.

>This is why many people I work with have hellacious commutes. Something I've never been interested in assuming.

>>And judging by what I have seen of the real estate classifieds, I might be your neighbor real soon now. :-)

>>>The problem is, the closer to campus you are, the more you're going to pay. Though the neighborhood I live in has (for Redmond) some reasonably priced houses and the commute's not bad.
