I couldn't get the connect method to work either, so I build a VB wrapper for this. It's a very simple bit of code, and I have it on the downloads section of UT. Check out "Sending SMTP mail from VFP" in the recent entries section. There you will find the VB source code for the control. All you need to do is compile it to an OCX.
