I have a requirement to produce a reporting system.

The VFP reports (about 100 of them in place) are not flexible (or user friendly) enough for what we want (ie they want the users to be able to modify the layout, include graphs etc.)
Also we want some user seperation from the data - all the fieldnames are incomprehensible so there would have to be some kind of translation through the data dictionary (a propriatory one is in place)

I was thinking about export to Excel with a few ready made reports - then the users can modify to their heart's content.

I have also heard about data extraction/reporting tools which hook into .DBF's and allow customizable reports to be produced, but there could be a speed issue here.

Does anyone have any suggestions for places I can start to look?
These are the options I have thought of so far:

Give them VFP report designer
Crystal reports (does this handle Pie/Scatter/Line/Bar etc graphs?)
Excel
Data extraction tool??

Above anything they want it to be user friendly, flexible and customisable (isn't that a paradox?)
